Roberta Jacobson - Robbins Academy Coordinator
Roberta Jacobson

Roberta Jacobson is a native San Antonian and a graduate of both Lee High School and Trinity University. She received a Masters in Human Resources from Webster University in Missouri.  Mrs. Jacobson is a veteran teacher whose teaching career has been in San Antonio at the San Antonio ISD, Northeast ISD, and finally Alamo Heights ISD . Mrs. Jacobson is currently the Coordinator of Robbins Academy and the social studies teacher.  Prior to this position, she has been the AHISD Vocational Adjustment (VAC) Coordinator and the Transition Coordinator for AHISD as well as a behavior specialist and a support consultant for the Robbins Academy staff and students.  As part of her duties at Robbins Academy, Mrs. Jacobson consults with students and families about employment, post-secondary education options, community resources and provides support for behavioral and emotional concerns.

Mr. Benjamin Adams - Economics and Electives
Benjamion Adams

Ben Adams hails from the small, central Texas town of Lohn, where he attended school, graduating in 1988. After a four year enlistment in the U.S. Air Force as a Weather Technitian he completed his degree in history at Angelo State University in San Angelo with a social studies composite certification. He then returned to teach high school history in his hometown and has since taught in Seguin and Floresville High School's Choice Program. He currently serves in the Texas Army National Guard and is in his second year at Robbins Academy.

Mr. Roy Garcia - Science
Roy Garcia

Roy Garcia returned to his hometown of San Antonio five years ago to teach Science at Alamo Heights High School and this is his third year at Robbins Academy. He graduated from the Northside Health Careers High School and then went on to Texas A&M University at Kingsville where he received his degree in Range and Wildlife Management and earned the Distinguished Student Award. Mr. Garcia began his teaching career in Uvalde at their alternative high school and his years of experience have included positions in Pleasanton, Navasota, and New Mexico. He has a secondary Science composite certification and presently teaches IPC, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology, and Environmental Science at Robbins.

Mr. Larry Oxford - Spanish
Larry Oxford

Larry Oxford is a San Antonio native and an Alamo Heights High School graduate. He holds degrees from Yale University, the University of Texas at Austin School of Law , and the London School of Economics. Mr. Oxford began his career at AHHS as the head tennis coach. His players won ten state championships, and he was named the Texas High School Tennis Coach of the Year. He then practiced commercial real estate law in San Antonio until 2000, when he became the director of the new twelve court Alamo Heights Tennis Center, a position he still holds today. Mr. Oxford has taught pre-AP World Geography at AHHS and is presently teaching Spanish at Robbins. In addition, he returned to coaching as the head tennis coach at AHHS and in 2011 was named the Greater San Antonio Tennis Coach of the Year.

Mrs. Marquis Stakes- English

Marquis StakesMarquis Stakes is an “Air Force Brat” who was born in Rhode Island but eventually made her way to Texas.  She is a graduate of both Saint Mary’s Hall High School and The University of Texas at San Antonio where she earned a BA in English. She has been teaching for five years, four of which have been at alternative high schools.  Marquis lives in Schertz with her husband, James, and their young daughters.
